Patients more satisfied with hospitals than GP services

An analysis of patient feedback has found significantly lower rates of satisfaction for GP practices than for hospitals. It also found that NHS patients preferred being treated at private hospitals.

The work by NHS Choices, which has not been made public, is based on a study of more than 100,000 ratings and comments posted on the website.

The most recommended hospital was the Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine, part of University College London Hospitals Foundation Trust. Patient satisfaction was higher in the north of England, while hospitals and GPs in London were less well rated.
